Morrice Hall is one of the most recognizable buildings on the 9I制作厂免费 Campus. It has a Gothic revival style with arched windows, a limestone facade, and a distinguished tower. The structure we see today was completed in 1882 and served as an expansion for the Presbyterian College, designed to emphasize its religious purpose. As an annex to the seminary, Morrice Hall housed a library, dorms and dining hall, and was connected to the original building, which has since been demolished to make way for the Leacock building to accommodate a growing number of students in the Faculty of Arts during the postwar period.听

In World War I, Morrice Hall was used as a military hospital from 1918-1919, and during World War II, it was briefly the temporary home of the International Labour Organization. Presently, the building is home to the Institute of Islamic Studies, which was founded in 1952 by William Cantwell Smith and was the first such institute of its kind in North America.
