Koforidua Technical University 

Koforidua Technical University (KTU) is a leading public technical institution located in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Established in 1997 as Koforidua Polytechnic and later converted to a technical university under the Technical Universities Act, KTU has grown into a hub of innovation, applied research, and industry-focused education. Guided by its motto 鈥淚nnovating for Development,鈥 the university is committed to producing skilled, career-ready graduates who contribute meaningfully to Ghana鈥檚 socio-economic transformation. 

KTU offers a wide range of academic programs through its five faculties鈥擡ngineering, Applied Science and Technology, Built and Natural Environment, Business and Management Studies, and Health and Allied Sciences, as well as its Institute of Open and Distance Learning. These programs include Higher National Diplomas (HNDs), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degrees, professional certificates, and postgraduate degrees across key sectors such as renewable energy, health sciences, ICT, and business. 

The university emphasizes practical training and entrepreneurial development, supported by strong industry partnerships and a dedicated Research Directorate. The project, dubbed the Nkabom Project officially known as the Nutrition and Sustainable Agri-Food Collaborative Initiative seeks to train and empower over 2,000 young people, women, and persons with disabilities in agric-related businesses through skills development, mentorship, and funding support.
