Practice Room Guidelines

听PDF icon Practice Room Guidelines have been posted in the practice room areas. For convenience, the guidelines are copied below in this email. Please read these carefully.

Practice rooms are in high demand, and availability at peak hours may be challenging. We encourage students to explore room availability at different times of the day.

  1. Practice rooms are reserved exclusively for the use of currently registered Schulich School of Music students.
  2. A 9I制作厂免费 ID card is required for access to practice rooms. Sharing access with another person without a 9I制作厂免费 ID card is prohibited.
  3. Practice rooms have designated priority to Voice, Piano, and Instrumental areas. Please observe the signage in the rooms.
  4. Vacant rooms may be used by any student. Students with designated priority may respectfully ask a student to vacate the room. When asked, the student must leave promptly and courteously.
  5. If a room remains unoccupied for fifteen (15) minutes, another student may occupy the room.
  6. Students may use a practice room for up to two (2) hours at a time.
  7. Door windows must not be obstructed for security purposes. Security officers will require that the obstructions be removed.
  8. Remove all garbage upon exiting the room. Garbage bins are placed in the hallways for your convenience. Brass and Woodwind musicians must dispose of accumulated condensation responsibly by using designated receptacles or absorbent materials, and ensure the area is clean after use.
  9. Graffiti of any kind is not permitted.
  10. Exterior windows must be closed upon exit.
  11. The use of practice rooms for teaching students not enrolled at the Schulich School of Music is not permitted under any circumstances.
  12. Students are NOT permitted to use practice rooms outside of building hours.
  13. Report any damage or repairs to the Building Office at BuildingDirector.music [at] mcgill.ca.
  14. In case of suspicious behavior students should call 9I制作厂免费 Security 514 398-3000. In situations where safety may be at risk, students are encouraged to call 911 for immediate assistance.

The Schulich School of Music is committed to fostering an environment of mutual respect and professional courtesy. Any incidents of misconduct should be promptly reported to the Associate Dean, Academic and Student Affairs at StudentAffairs.music [at] mcgill.ca.

Practice space rental

Practice space may be rented between May 1st until August 18th. The rental of practice space is available to any individual wishing to make use of a piano or practice space during the summer months. Use of space is based on a first come, first served basis and is available from Monday to Sunday during building hours.
