Anne

Academic background: I completed my undergraduate studies at Western University, where I studied Political Science.

Bio: I am a proud Manitoban. Before law school, I worked in Canadian federal politics and with international and domestic human rights organizations. In the faculty, I have worked with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, as an Associate Editor for the 9I制作厂免费 Journal of Sustainable Development Law, and as a research assistant. This past summer, I did a student clerkship at the Court of King's Bench of Manitoba. Next summer, I will be working as a Summer Associate at White & Case in New York. Hobbies: I love to spend time outdoors, with my family and trying out new local restaurants.

Academic background: I attended the University of Calgary, where I completed a Bachelor of Social Work. At 9I制作厂免费, I am completing the Joint BCL/JD and MSW program.听

Bio: I grew up in Southern Alberta and British Columbia, completing most of my schooling in Calgary, AB. During my undergraduate education, I had the privilege of completing a semester exchange to Ume氓 University in Sweden, a social justice group study program in Mexico, and completing a research project with social work students in Hong Kong and the Philippines. After graduating, I worked as a social worker with children and families, which inspired me to pursue a law degree to enact systemic change. I am the VP Finance at the Family Law Association of 9I制作厂免费 (FLAM), I completed an independent Legal Clinic Course with the First Nations Financial Management Board, and I am planning to participate in a semester exchange during my time at 9I制作厂免费 Law. When I am not studying or working, I am usually embroidering and listening to podcasts or exploring new restaurants in Montreal, visiting my family on the beautiful Vancouver Island, or travelling the world.听

Academic Background: Prior to 9I制作厂免费, I completed a DEC in General Social Science at Vanier College. I also obtained a certificate in Women鈥檚 and Gender Studies!

Bio: I am originally from the US, but I spent a great part of my childhood in Luxembourg and the UK before coming to Montr茅al. As a result, I鈥檓 highly interested in all things cross-border. I鈥檓 currently a third-year student at the faculty, where I previously served on Faculty Council and volunteered as a caseworker at 9I制作厂免费鈥檚 Legal Information Clinic. Currently, I am part of 9I制作厂免费's Sports and Entertainment Law Association and Women of Color Collective! Outside of school, I love to travel, take long strolls while listening to music, and read historical nonfiction books or watch the movie adaptation.

Bio: I am currently in my third year of law and have a particular interest in corporate and banking law. My time at 9I制作厂免费 has been enriched by both academic and community involvement. I am an active member of the Student Advocacy branch and participate in federal political initiatives, while also gaining professional experience in law firms and government.

Academic Background: Prior to beginning my studies at 9I制作厂免费's Faculty of Law, I completed a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Honours Health Science at John Abbott College. At CEGEP, I served on the undergraduate student government for the finance department and sang the national anthem for various ceremonies and graduations.

Bio: I grew up in Montreal and am always looking to be involved in entrepreneurship. During my time at John Abbott, I co-founded a tech startup with friends. At 9I制作厂免费 Law, I've been involved with the Compass Startup Legal Clinic, the 9I制作厂免费 Journal of Law and Health, and as a teaching assistant in Criminal Justice. This past summer, I worked as a student in a full-service corporate law firm in Montreal. In my spare time, I sing and play jazz. Academic Background: Before studying at 9I制作厂免费's Faculty of Law, I obtained a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Humanities, International Profile with Enriched Mathematics at Coll猫ge Andr茅-Grasset.

Bio: I am currently in my second year of law school and am interested in private law. My journey at 9I制作厂免费 Law has been enriched by my commitment to extracurricular activities and community involvement. In my first year, I actively engaged with the Innocence Project, the 9I制作厂免费 International Law Society and the BLSAM. I also volunteered with organizations such as Amnesty International and the Clinique Juridique de St-Michel (CJSM), where I aimed to make a positive impact.

Currently, I serve as the president of the Women of Colour Collective (WOCC) and volunteer as a student advocate at the 9I制作厂免费 Legal Information Clinic. Additionally, I am an associate editor for the 9I制作厂免费 Journal of Dispute Resolution while continuing my community work.

Academic Background: Prior to beginning my studies at the 9I制作厂免费 Faculty of Law, I completed a DEC in Arts & Sciences at Marianopolis College, and an Honours BA with Great Distinction in Liberal Arts from Concordia University. For a year, I was also a law student at the Universit茅 de Montr茅al's Faculty of Law.

Bio : I鈥檓 a 3L at the Faculty of Law, born and raised in Montreal. I am an avid reader and student of literature, philosophy, and history. In my spare time, I can be found listening to music or long-form podcasts while strolling around the mountain, studying languages for fun (especially ancient ones), or trying to pick up a new skill. In addition to being a student ambassador, since beginning my studies in Law, I've worked on podcast episodes for the 9I制作厂免费 Law Journal Podcast and the 9I制作厂免费 Journal of Sustainable Development Law Podcast, become an associate editor鈥攁nd now senior editor鈥攆or the 9I制作厂免费 Journal of Sustainable Development Law, served as the Associate Law Senator, joined the Legal Information Clinic at 9I制作厂免费 as a junior caseworker, and taken up kickboxing and fencing.

Fatoumata, 1LAcademic Background: Before joining 9I制作厂免费's Faculty of Law, I completed a Bachelor's degree in Medical Biology at the Universit茅 du Qu茅bec 脿 Trois-Rivi猫res. During my Bachelor's degree, I had the opportunity to participate in a research project in the biochemistry of medicinal plants. I was also involved in various community initiatives on campus.

Bio: I am Senegalese of Guinean origin and grew up in Gambia. I have been living in Quebec since 2019. After completing my bachelor鈥檚 degree, I took a sabbatical year during which I worked for the federal government.

Since arriving at 9I制作厂免费 this fall, I have been involved as a Pro Bono student volunteer on the Law and Health Care project. Working on this project is an ideal opportunity to bridge the gap between my previous studies and the new adventure I am starting at the 9I制作厂免费 Faculty of Law. I was also selected to be part of the 1L team of the 9I制作厂免费 Law Journal Podcast, and I am part of the Planning and Networking Committee of the 9I制作厂免费 International Law Society.

I am particularly interested in public international law and policy development. Outside of my studies and academic commitments, I devote my time to reading, listening to podcasts and exploring Quebec's green spaces, while enjoying special moments with my loved ones. I will be happy to answer your questions and help you find your place at the faculty.

Bio: I am originally from Cameroon and grew up in Ottawa, Ontario. After finishing my bachelor鈥檚 degree, I worked as a caseworker for a Member of Parliament in the Federal government for two years before applying to law school.
I am now in my second year of the Joint BCL/JD and MSW program at 9I制作厂免费. I enjoy being active in my community, which has led me to serve as Class President, Creative Director of Contours, and a junior caseworker at Innocence 9I制作厂免费 in my first year. After 1L, I spent the summer working at a personal injury law firm. This year, I am volunteering at the Legal Information Clinic at 9I制作厂免费 (LICM), serving as an executive team member of the Black Law Students鈥 Association of 9I制作厂免费 (BLSAM), and contributing as a junior editor on the 9I制作厂免费 Law Journal (MLJ). I also work part-time as a Legal and Political Researcher.
Hobbies: Outside of school, I love staying active. I play volleyball, kickbox, and dance salsa and bachata. I鈥檓 also always up for good music and an even better matcha. Don鈥檛 hesitate to say hi or reach out if you have any questions! I鈥檇 be happy to connect!

Bio: Having grown up in Ottawa, I had a diverse career in the public service and charity sectors for nearly a decade. My most recent government posting was working for the City of Ottawa, managing contracts of the city's childcare funding program. Among my community works, I am most recognized for being the founder and executive director of the Cuts For Kids Foundation, which promoted dignity through access to equitable opportunities by connecting youth to essential services 鈥 starting with a free haircut or style.
At 9I制作厂免费, I am a lead caseworker at the Innocence 9I制作厂免费 legal clinic, a student advocate for the Legal Information Clinic at 9I制作厂免费 (LICM), and one of many de facto ambassadors of the McCall MacBain Scholars program. I spent my 1L summer working for a boutique law firm with offices in Montreal and Nunavik (Quebec).
You can find me all around campus, but most likely waiting in line for a coffee. If you see me, come say hello! I am happy to answer your program or scholarship questions.

Bio: I am originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Before law school, I worked in federal politics in Ottawa. This past summer, I worked at the Bank of Canada as their legal intern. At 9I制作厂免费, I serve as a Student Assistant at the Career Development Office, am a co-President of the Supper Club, and co-organized the Faculty鈥檚 inaugural Movember Campaign, including a 鈥淧ie Your Professor鈥 event in partnership with the Dean. I am currently a Research Assistant at Space Canada, supporting Canada鈥檚 space sector on policy and industry development. Feel free to reach out with any questions!

Bio: I grew up in Abbotsford, British Columbia, in an agricultural landscape. The values of seva (selfless service) and community are integral to me and have shaped my interest in how law, public policy, and economics can uplift and strengthen communities. While working on Parliament Hill, I observed the unique roles of legislators, parliamentary staff, and the House of Commons administration, all contributing to the democratic process and the functioning of our parliamentary institutions. I am excited to serve as President of the 9I制作厂免费 Sikh Students鈥 Association, where I hope to foster inclusivity and diversity within the faculty and across campus.

Bio: Although I was born in Ottawa, I've called Western Canada home for the past two decades, living and working in Calgary, Edmonton, and Hinton in Alberta, and in Canada's only desert ecosystem in the Okanagan region of British Columbia. Before coming to law school, I worked for the Alberta provincial government and then in local government in British Columbia in the Parks and Recreation sector, managing community environmental education programs and visitor centres. Law will be my second career. I'm passionate about Employment & Labour Law, but I'm also interested in other legal paths and am appreciating the incredible array of opportunities that enrich law student life at 9I制作厂免费. I'm involved with Criminal Law 9I制作厂免费, 9I制作厂免费 Sports & Entertainment Law, the Negotiation Club, and Quid Novi.
Hobbies: Outside of legal studies, I'm an avid pickleball player, and can often be found on the social dance floor, reading and writing fiction, doing beadwork, making YouTube videos, or chatting with my teenage daughter. Bio: I was born and raised in Algeria, where I spent half my childhood before moving to Qatar for the other half. During my studies in Ottawa, I completed two theses, with one focusing on international conflict mediation and the other on the competitiveness of the grocery retailer industry.
Since joining 9I制作厂免费, I've been actively involved in student life as an associate editor for the 9I制作厂免费 Journal of International Law and Legal Pluralism, a volunteer with Pro Bono Students Canada, and VP Finance of the North African Law Students Association.
