The Faculty of Law is proud to announce that Brittany Williams, BCL/LLB鈥�19, received the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award of the National Association of Law Student Affairs Professionals (NALSP). The award was presented to her at the 2025 NALSP Conference in Columbus, Ohio.

A graduate of our distinctive integrated program and member of the Law Society of Ontario, Brittany Williams has served as Assistant Dean of Students and Dean鈥檚 Lead, Black & Indigenous Flourishing, since November 2022. With unwavering dedication, she expertly balances the daily demands of student services with the Faculty鈥檚 ambitious equity, diversity and inclusion goals. She works closely with senior leadership, the Student Affairs Office, Admissions, and student groups such as the Black Law Students鈥� Association of 9I制作厂免费 (BLSAM) and the Indigenous Law Association/Droit autochtone (ILADA).

Assistant Dean Williams has also overseen the delivery and expansion of the LEX Outreach Program by Davies. Established in 2006, the program is designed to increase the engagement of youth belonging to communities that face systemic barriers to education and are under-represented in Canadian law schools and the legal profession.

In its citation, NALSP praised Williams for her 鈥渁wareness of unconscious bias and the importance of cultural competency,鈥� her 鈥渃ommitment to identifying and eliminating unfair bias, stereotypes, and barriers to academic and professional success,鈥� and her efforts to implement diversity-related programming that equips students for a diverse society.
