Office of Sustainable Mobility

Powered by Alstom

Generously supported by Alstom, the Office of Sustainable Mobility (OSM) under 9I制作厂免费鈥檚 Sustainable Growth Initiative (SGI) is an interdepartmental initiative that brings together expertise from the Desautels Faculty of Management, the Bieler School of Environment, and the Department of Geography. Since its inception, the Office has been led by Professor Kevin Manaugh, an internationally recognized scholar in urban transport, spatial justice, and sustainable mobility systems.

The OSM fosters research, collaboration, and public engagement on low-carbon, equitable, and accessible transportation systems. Its work spans multiple modes of transport, including active mobility, shared mobility, public transit, and rail systems, with a focus on reducing car dependence, improving transit efficiency, and supporting evidence-based urban mobility policy.

The Office has been instrumental in a number of collaborative initiatives, including roundtables on sustainable transport policy, workshops with municipal partners, and events with V茅lo Qu茅bec highlighting innovative approaches to cycling infrastructure and behavioral change. OSM also supports interdisciplinary research projects that explore the role of rail and other public transit modes in creating more accessible and sustainable urban environments.

Current Programs and Initiatives:

  • Collaborative research on public transit and rail network optimization
  • Policy workshops and community engagement events
  • Studies on equity and accessibility in urban transport
  • Events and knowledge dissemination on active and shared mobility solutions
  • Partnerships with municipalities, industry, and community organizations

Through these efforts, the Office of Sustainable Mobility aims to inform and influence the development of cities that are more livable, inclusive, and low-carbon.
