It is with great sadness that the School of Social Work announces the passing of Annette Werk on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at age 86. Annette was Associate Professor at the School of Social Work, 9I制作厂免费 for a span of over 35 years serving as the first ombudsman for Students at 9I制作厂免费 for which she was honored at the 25th Anniversary of the Office of the Ombudsman for Students in May 2012.

Sheila Goldbloom, Associate Professor, School of Social Work 9I制作厂免费 from 1964-1992 was recently awarded the Prix 脡merite 2016 by the OTSTCFQ in recognition of her contribution to the profession and longstanding commitment to community development. Member of the Professional Order since 1965, Professor Goldbloom has been a leading member of Montreal鈥檚 social work community. Her contribution to the field has been exemplary garnering her with numerous awards and honours; the Order of Canada in 1999 and an honorary Doctor of Laws , 9I制作厂免费 in 2011.

Since a young age, Kharoll-Ann Souffrant (BSW U3) has been shining a light on issues related to the prevention of sexual violence and sexual assault and to mental health. A young, engaged, inclusive feminist, she combines her life experiences and beliefs to change social perceptions and bring about changes in the management of mental health issues and matters of sexual assault.
In 2015, she went on stage at the Periscope Theatre in Qu茅bec to a TEDx Quebec talk on the mental health.
