I am currently looking for individuals interested in pursuing doctoral studies in public transport planning, operations and/or policies, starting in Fall 2026. Specifically, I am seeking applications from candidates interested in conducting research on the following topics:

  1. Public Transport Planning and Operations: Public transport performance metrics (e.g., running time, on time performance, schedule deviation, headway deviation), public transport satisfaction and travel experience.
  2. Public Transport Governance and Policy Evaluation: Evaluation of public transport infrastructure projects and their impacts on development and travel behaviour, and/or fare structure and operational costs.

Ahmed is currently the co-editor in chief ofÌý, he is also serving as an editor forÌý.Ìý He is a member of scientific editorial board of theÌýÌýÌýandÌý. He served on the board of directors for the regional public transport authority in Montreal from 2017 to 2024. He served on several committees at theÌýÌýin the past including the Committee on Public Transportation Planning and Development, AP025 (2011 - 2014; 2014 - 2017; & 2017 - 2020) and Public Transportation Marketing and Fare Policy, AP030 (2012 – 2015, 2015 - 2018, & 2018 - 2021). He also served as the elected chair and board member of theÌýÌý(2018 – 2021).
