I apply this line of questioning to the case of young professional men a nd women making early career and family decisions. Analyzing over 130 long itudinal in-depth interviews with both partners of 21 graduate and profess ional school couples who were negotiating relocation over career opportuni ties. I find that although all couples made plans to achieve an egalitaria n outcome at Time 1\, couples decision making diverged at Time 2\, and res ulted in gender-unequal outcomes at Time 3. I explore how these initial de cision trajectories relate to longer-term patterns of work and family at T ime 4. Findings point to the necessity of questioning what 'gender (in)equ ality' is.\n DTSTART:20190329T163000Z DTEND:20190329T180000Z SUMMARY:Guest Lecture by Dr. Jaclyn Wong URL:/sociology/channels/event/guest-lecture-dr-jaclyn- wong-295495 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
