negar.imani [at] mail.mcgill.ca (Negar Imani), Chair

Negar Imani is a PhD candidate in the School of Information Studies at 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ and a member of the Multimodal Interaction Lab under the supervision of Professor Guastavino. With a background in urban planning and design, her research sits at the intersection of participatory mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to capture people’s perceptions of their sound environment. She investigates the relationship between residents’ soundscapes and neighbourhood walkability, aiming to inform policy-making for more walkable neighbourhoods, enhanced green spaces, and restorative soundscapes.

Kundan Sheikh is a PhD student at the School of Information Studies, 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ. With her background as an educator, researcher and development economist, she now works at the intersection of sustainability and information, her key area of interest being crisis informatics. Her intended doctoral research, under the supervision of Prof. Gracen Brilmyer, aims to explore the critical information needs of disaster-affected communities and their role in nurturing community resilience.

kartikay.chadha [at] mail.mcgill.ca (Kartikay Chadha), Secretary & Treasurer

Kartikay Chadha is a PhD candidate and sessional lecturer in the School of Information Studies at 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ. He is also the CEO of Walk With Web Inc., an international consortium of scholars developing and supporting social science and humanities digital research. Chadha’s work in digital humanities examines information interaction with digital tools. He has developed projects for institutions across North America, Europe, and Africa. His projects are funded by SSHRC, NEH, Mellon Foundation, UKRI, and the British Library. Chadha received the SSHRC Doctoral Scholarship and was 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ’s 2024 SSHRC Impact Awards (Talent Category) nominee.

mathieu.landretti [at] mail.mcgill.ca (Mathieu Landretti), Master’s Student Representative & Web Manager

Mathieu Landretti is a second year Masters Student in the School of Information Studies at 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ. With a background in mathematics and computer science, he is interested in how libraries can provide digital literacy education to nontraditional students. Over the past summer, Mathieu worked as the Education Program Coordinator at the Atwater Library and Computer Centre, helping to develop curriculum and teaching courses/workshops for the Atwater Library’s Digital Literacy Project.

rebekah.willson [at] mcgill.ca (Dr. Rebekah Willson), Faculty Advisor

Dr. Rebekah (Becky) Willson is an assistant professor at the School of Information Studies at 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ (Montréal, Canada). Before coming to 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ, Dr Willson was a Lecturer in Information Science in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, UK. Dr Willson’s research is in the field of information behaviour and information practices, particularly focusing on individuals who are undergoing transitions and living with uncertainty. Dr Willson is the Immediate Past Chair of SIG-USE (´¡³§±õ³§&²¹³¾±è;°Õ’s Special Interest Group for Information Use, Seeking, and Needs), the Vice-Chair of the ASIS&T Research Engagement Committee, and an editor for JASIS&T.
