In this tal k\, Dr. Marcelo Wanderley\, drawing on examples from his interdisciplinary research in music technology\, will discuss how computing technology invi tes us to interact with music differently and speculate about how technolo gy can shape the future of music.\n\nMarcelo M. Wanderley graduated in ele ctrical engineering at the UFPR and holds a Master鈥檚 degree in engineering from UFSC\, Brazil and a Ph.D. from Universit茅 Pierre et Marie Curie and Ircam\, France. He is Full Professor of Music Technology at 9I制作厂免费 Univers ity\, Canada\, and International Chair at Inria Lille 鈥 Nord Europe\, Fran ce. He is a member of Computer Music Journal鈥檚 Editorial Advisory Board an d a senior member of the ACM and of the IEEE. He co-edited the electronic book 鈥淭rends in Gestural Control of Music鈥漒, 2000\, co-authored the textbo ok 鈥淣ew Digital Musical Instruments: Control and Interaction Beyond the Ke yboard鈥漒, 2006\, and chaired the 2003 International Conference on New Inte rfaces for Musical Expression (NIME03).
