DESCRIPTION:On January 26\, 2023\, SSHRC-funded students and researchers ar
 e invited to participate in “lightning” talks at 9I���������’s Faculty Club wit
 h Ted Hewitt\, President of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Co
 uncil (SSHRC). Lightning talks challenge participants to provide a well-de
 tailed synopsis of their research in five minutes or less and using only o
 ne visual aid\, such as a Power Point slide. The goal of this session is t
 o spark new conversations and collaborations among SSHRC-funded students a
 nd researchers at 9I���������.\n\nUp to eight presenters representing undergrad
 uate\, graduate\, and postdoctoral researchers will be selected to deliver
  a series of very short presentations on their research. Students and post
 docs in diverse fields of study are encouraged to attend the event and par
 ticipate in the group discussion period that will follow the presentations
 .\n\nWe are no longer accepting applications from presenters\; however\, y
 ou may still attend the event as an audience member!\n\nTo attend the even
