Call for Summer 2026 Internship Supervisors

D2R and the Canadian Organization for Undergraduate Health Research launch a call for applications for a new internship opportunity

D2R is excited to announce this brand new opportunity to for internships Black undergraduate students in summer 2026. D2R has partnering to offer funded summer research internships in genomic-based RNA therapeutics for Black undergraduate students from across universities in Montreal.

The program provides students with paid summer research positions, mentorship, journal clubs, workshops on research skills, and the opportunity to present their work at an end-of-summer symposium. This partnership aims to inspire students to pursue graduate studies in genomic-based RNA therapeutics related fields.

COUHR is a student-run non-profit organization partnering with research institutions across Canada to provide funded summer internships for underrepresented undergraduate students in fields such as neuroscience, biophysics, and genetics.

This call invites all D2R funded Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators at 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ who are interested in hosting an undergraduate Black research student for Summer 2026 (from mid-May to mid-August 2026) to apply by November 21, 2025.

Details:

  • PIs submit a project description outlining the research students can undertake.
  • PIs commit to providing a one-page progress report in the beginning of July 2026.
  • Students review available projects and reach out directly to PIs whose research aligns with their interests.
  • Once a student secures a position with a supervisor, they formally apply to COUHR.
  • Internships stipends are fully funded ($7000) by D2R and are available to all undergraduate Black students in Montreal universities.

*Please note that this internship opportunity will be offered to 3–4 Black undergraduate students. Therefore, if we receive interest from more PIs than available slots, consideration will be given on a first-matched, first-served basis.
