"Four Pillars of the Redpath Museum": Auditorium Exhibit

The Redpath Museum's historic auditorium is home to many 9I制作厂免费 classes and lectures. The lecture hall also contains four display cases, which have recently been renovated to contain a new exhibit: "Four Pillars of the Redpath Museum". Each of the four display cases contains a selection of artefacts and specimens that represent听the diversity and historic value of the Redpath Museum's collections. These four cases present听the Museum's Biodiversity, Mineralogy, Palaeontology and World Cultures collections.听

The four display cases were designed and installed by Lauren McAusland, a 9I制作厂免费 Undergraduate student, with the assistance of Museum Curators Anthony Howell and Annie Lussier, and Public Outreach Administrator Ingrid Birker.听听

Land Acknowledgement

9I制作厂免费 is on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. We acknowledge and thank the diverse Indigenous peoples whose presence marks this territory on which peoples of the world now gather.


Rematriation, Repatriation and Restitution Statement

We acknowledge that the return and restitution of cultural and natural heritage to communities of origin is an essential part of reconciliation and of recognizing the fundamental rights of Indigenous Peoples. As part of wider efforts to activate the standards presented in the Canadian Museums Association Report Moved to Action: Activating UNDRIP in Canadian Museums (2022), the Redpath is working towards pro-active restitution practices. As per our Collections Management Policy (2024), repatriation requests will be received by the Redpath Museum Director and will be treated on a case-by-case basis.

Accessibility

Please note that the Redpath Museum is not accessible to individuals using wheelchairs. There are no access ramps or elevators, and access to the upper floors is only possible via a central staircase. The exterior entrance, interior spaces, exhibition rooms, and restrooms are not adapted to meet universal accessibility standards. Additionally, the building is not air-conditioned.
