Instead\, health care -- whether preventative\, curative\, or aimed at symptom management -- must be adapted over time to individual patients ’ evolving needs. In this presentation\, I will introduce the Sequential M ultiple Assignment Randomized Trial (SMART)\, an experimental design speci fically developed for testing and exploring optimal treatment strategies f or precision medicine. The need for such trials\, and their potential adva ntages and drawbacks\, will be discussed and several examples will be cons idered.\n DTSTART:20181211T170000Z DTEND:20181211T180000Z LOCATION:Room 1027\, McIntyre Medical Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3G 1 Y6\, 3655 promenade Sir William Osler SUMMARY:Seminar Series in Quantitative Life Sciences and Medicine URL:/qls/channels/event/seminar-series-quantitative-li fe-sciences-and-medicine-291619 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
