New Director Appointed to Psychiatry Graduate Program

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Danielle Groleau as the new Director of the Department of Psychiatry’s Graduate Program, effective September 1, 2025. Dr. Groleau has served as Associate Director of the Graduate Program for nearly 10 years, and we are confident she will excel in this new leadership role.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Naguib Mechawar for his outstanding leadership and dedication over the past 13 years. His vision and commitment were instrumental in shaping the graduate program and establishing the PhD in Mental Health.

Last week, HBHL hosted the third talk of the 2024-2025 Neurogenesis Speaker Series at the Neuro, featuring Dana Small and Yashar Zeighami.

Dana Small’s presentation, "The Interoceptive Origins of Reward," explored how biological signals are integrated to determine food choice, while Yashar Zeighami’s talk, "Fine-Tuning Neuroimaging Analysis to Reveal Hidden Insights," highlighted his research into the development of multi-scale computational models of brain anatomy.

Join us for the Fall 2025 edition of our 15-week online seminar series for all mental health professionals and trainees. This series focuses on concrete skills and covers the basics of CBT for the treatment of mental disorders, such as anxiety, depression, psychosis, trauma, and insomnia. In addition to the didactic material presented, participants will observe and practice a range of cognitive and behavioural strategies. The registration deadline is September 9, 2025 at 5:00 PM (Eastern time).
