Emerging literature indeed points to func tional heterogeneity even within anatomically defined DA clusters. Recogni zing the need for a systematic classification scheme\, we and others have used single-cell profiling to catalogue DA neurons based on their gene exp ression profiles. In addition\, we’ve developed an intersectional platform to genetically target DA neuron subpopulations\, thus enabling their inve stigation in vivo. Using this platform\, we’ve revealed the unexpected com plexity of ascending DAergic projections and are currently investigating t he implication of this heterogeneity in behaviour and disease.\n\n \n DTSTART:20221118T160000Z DTEND:20221118T170000Z LOCATION:Room 1034\, McIntyre Medical Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3G 1 Y6\, 3655 promenade Sir William Osler SUMMARY:Physiology Seminar 'Mapping molecular and functional diversity with in the midbrain dopaminergic system” URL:/physiology/channels/event/physiology-seminar-mapp ing-molecular-and-functional-diversity-within-midbrain-dopaminergic-system -343508 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
