 f normal healthy living. Specialized cells called phagocytes recognize and
  remove these dying cells via the process of efferocytosis. Failure in in 
 efferocytosis leads to many inflammatory diseases\, demonstrating its impo
 rtance. Our laboratory focuses on how apoptotic cells are recognized and c
 leared in an immunologically silent fashion. This presentation focus on th
 e molecules and mechanisms that control efferocytosis and their relevance
