Post-doctoral and graduate students win prestigious grants to support RISE3 LAB research projects

Five graduate students working in the RISE3 LAB at the Ingram School of Nursing under the supervision of Assistant Professor Guillaume Fontaine were awarded highly competitive grants from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) and/or the Fonds de recherche du Qu茅bec (FRQ) for their research projects.

The mission of the (Research in Implementation Science for Healthcare Engagement, Effectiveness and Equity) is to apply and advance implementation science methods to drive the transformation of healthcare systems, prioritizing engagement with communities, healthcare providers, decision-makers and other key actors.听Congratulations to:

V茅ronique Thibault, RD, PhD, MSc, Postdoctoral Fellow in the RISE鲁 LAB at the Ingram School of Nursing (Supervisor: Guillaume Fontaine, RN, PhD; Co-supervisor: Dr. Caroline Quach, Universit茅 de Montr茅al) received an Fonds de recherche du Qu茅bec (FRQ) Postdoctoral Award (2025鈥27; $90,000; ranked 1st in committee) for her project titled 鈥淥ptimizing Infection Prevention and Control Practices: An Evidence Synthesis and Matrixed Multiple Case Study Approach Using Implementation Science and Integrated Knowledge Translation.鈥

Sophie Sergerie-Richard, RN, MSc, Co-Advised PhD student in the RISE鲁 LAB (Supervisor: Marie-H茅l猫ne Goulet, RN, PhD, Universit茅 de Montr茅al; Co-supervisor: Guillaume Fontaine, RN, PhD) received both an FRQ Doctoral Award ($145,000; 2025鈥29) ranked 1st in committee) and a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Doctoral Award ($120,000; 2025鈥28) for her project titled 鈥淒e-Implementation of Coercive Practices in Mental Health Care.鈥

Daniel N. Elakpa, BPharm, MSc, PhD student in the RISE鲁 LAB (Supervisor: Guillaume Fontaine, RN, PhD) received a CIHR Canadian Network on Hepatitis C (CanHepC) Doctoral Award ($140,000; 2025鈥29) for his project titled: 鈥淚mplementing decentralized hepatitis C virus (HCV) point-of-care testing for people who inject drugs in Montreal: An evidence synthesis and multi-site process-mapping study to inform the development of an implementation blueprint.鈥

Olivia Di Lalla, RN, BSN, Master of Science (Applied) student in the RISE鲁 LAB (Supervisor: Guillaume Fontaine, RN, PhD) received a CIHR Master鈥檚 Award ($27,000; 2025鈥26) for her project 鈥淓xploring the Feasibility, Benefits, and Risks of Integrating AI Across the Implementation Research Spectrum to Accelerate the Translation of Public Health Interventions.鈥

Talia Meyers, BA, Master of Science (Applied) student in the RISE鲁 LAB (Supervisor: Guillaume Fontaine, RN, PhD) received a CIHR Master鈥檚 Award ($27,000; 2025鈥26) for her project titled 鈥淎dvancing Hepatitis C Elimination: Evaluating Barriers, Facilitators, and RE-AIM Outcomes of Point-of-Care Testing in the M茅tropoles Sans H茅patite C Initiative.鈥
