He is also an associa te professor and attending psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital. He and his lab invent and apply genomics technology to the study of brain diseases. Recently\, his lab developed Slide-seq\, a tool for localizing the expression of all genes in situ. They are applying this technology — t ogether with high-throughput single-cell analysis — to uncover pathogenic mechanisms of neuropsychiatric diseases. Macosko is also a recipient of a Merkin Institute Fellowship.\n\nMacosko received an A.B. in chemistry from Harvard College\, and his M.D. from Weill Cornell Medical College. He ear ned a Ph.D. from The Rockefeller University in the lab of Cori Bargmann\, where he characterized neural circuitry responsible for C. elegans social behavior. He completed residency training in psychiatry at McLean and Mass achusetts General Hospitals. As a postdoctoral fellow with Steven McCarrol l\, he developed Drop-seq\, a technology for measuring gene expression in thousands of individual cells at once.\n\n\nTo attend in person\, register here.\n\nTo watch via vimeo\, click here.\n\n\nSupported by the generosit y of the Killam Trusts\, the MNI's Killam Seminar Series invites outstandi ng guest speakers whose research is of interest to the scientific communit y at the MNI and 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ.\n DTSTART:20230516T200000Z DTEND:20230516T210000Z LOCATION:De Grandpré Communications Centre\, Montreal Neurological Institut e\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 2B4\, 3801 rue University SUMMARY:Killam Seminar Series: Spatial and Single Cell Genomics for Next Ge neration Neuroscience URL:/neuro/channels/event/killam-seminar-series-spatia l-and-single-cell-genomics-next-generation-neuroscience-342353 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
