It also presents new opportunities to accelerate progress towards the UN Agen da 2030 Sustainable Development Goals through international scientific coo peration.\n \n At the same time\, scientists\, institutions and governments face new challenges: rapid developments in open science often outpace nati onal open science policies\, funding\, and infrastructure frameworks. More over\, the development of international standard setting instruments\, suc h as the future UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science\, requires internati onal harmonization of national policies\, the establishment of frameworks to ensure equitable participation\, and education\, training\, and profess ional development.\n \n This 3-hour satellite event brings together internat ional and national policy makers\, funders\, and experts in open science i nfrastructure to discuss these issues.\n \n The outcome of the satellite eve nt will be a summary report with recommendations for Open Science policy a lignment at institutional\, national\, and international levels.\n\n11:00 Welcome remarks\n Liette Vasseur\, PhD\n Professor\, Brock University\n Mylèn e Deschênes\n Director\, Ethics and Legal Affairs\n Fonds de recherche du Qu ébec\n\n11:10 Keynote - Impacts of COVID on the Open Science Ecosystem\n Vi ncent Larivière\, PhD\n Professor\, Information Science\n Associate Vice-Pre sident (planning and communications)\n Canada Research Chair\, Transformati ons of Scholarly Communication\, Université de Montréal\n\n11:30 Panel dis cussion with Q/A\n Moderator: Dylan Roskams-Edris\, Open Science Alliance O fficer\n Tanenbaum Open Science Institute\, The Neuro\n\nSonya Dumanis\, Ph D\, Deputy Director\, Aligning Science Across Parkinson's\n Laura Rovelli\, PhD\, Latin American Forum for Research Assessment (FOLEC)\n Latin America n Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO)\n Kaitlin Thaney\, Executive Director \, Invest in Open Infrastructure\n Victoria Tsoukala\, Policy Officer\, Eur opean Commission\, Directorate General for Research & Innovation\n\n12:30 Break\n\n12:45 Open Science Case Study Session\n\n\n The OpenNeuroPET Proje ct - Campaign to Combat PET Data Entropy\n Canadian Open Neuroscience Platf orm (CONP)\n Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) – The Role of Rig hts Retention in Meeting Open Access Policy Mandates\n Clinical Biospecimen Imaging and Genetic Repository – Open Access Biobank\n Editorial Board of Current Issues in Education\, Arizona State University - Issues in Educati on\n\n\n13:15-14:00 Feedback and Closing remarks\n\nThe outcome of the sat ellite event will be a summary report with recommendations for open scienc e policy alignment at institutional\, national\, and international levels. \n \n The event will be hosted on the events platform and participants will be able to choose which concurrent session they participate in upon regist ration.
