Let us introduce ourselves: we are听Phillip听and Adrien,听Co-chairs of The Neuro's Equity,听Diversity听and Inclusion听(EDI)听Committee.听听
2020 has not been only about the pandemic.听The听Black Lives Matter movement听shook the听world听and听drew听attention to racial听discrimination.听
Many听voiced听their desire for听change,听from people in the streets听of New York to our own听trainees听and staff, here, at The Neuro.听
Countries,听public and private听organizations,听and听small and large听teams听of dedicated workers,听have听all听come to realize that听that the situation听is听still听far from ideal, and there听is听so much that could be improved.听听
The Neuro's EDI Committee听started from a simple听observation: 鈥淭he Neuro family,鈥澨齮hat is all of us, at all levels of our institution, should represent the community听we听serve, that is听50% women*听and 34%* people identifying themselves as visible minorities in Montreal.听听
We听are a听grassroots听committee made up of a diverse membership representing different parts of The Neuro, including:听

We are still looking for听a听postdoc to join our committee!听
Over the last several months,听we鈥檝e听had committee meetings听as well as meetings with individuals specializing in EDI, with Dr. Guy Rouleau, and others.听We have received support from executive committees, and we thank them for that.听
Our mission is听for everyone working at The Neuro --听including all MUHC and 9I制作厂免费 employees听and trainees -- to feel accepted, safe, and given equal opportunities.听听
Our goal is to create open discussion and positive change at The Neuro in a timely manner.听
We will听provide a forum for regular consultation, feedback, discussion, and reporting.听
We听will develop听an Action Plan听to promote an听inclusive and accessible environment听for all.听
We will operate in a听fully transparent听manner.听
