This classification d oes not extend to strong interactions\, in particular to the flurry of pro cesses with natural logarithmic (or multiscale) correlations. These includ e branching random walks or the 2d Gaussian free field. More recently\, Fy odorov\, Hiary and Keating (2012) exhibited new examples of log-correlated phenomena in number theory and random matrix theory. As a result (and as a testing ground of their observations) they have formulated very precise conjectures about maxima of the characteristic polynomial of random matric es\, and the maximum of L-functions on typical interval the critical line. I will describe the recent progress towards these conjectures in both the random and deterministic setting.\n\n LIEU / PLACE\n CRM\, Salle / Room 534 0\, Pavillon André Aisenstadt\n Une réception suivra au salon Maurice-Labbé (salle 6245)\n A reception will follow in the Maurice-Labbé lounge (room 6 245)\n \n ZOOM\n https://us06web.zoom.us/j/84226701306?pwd=UEZ5NVpZaUlldW5qNU 8vZzIvbEJXQT09\n ID: 842 2670 1306 / CODE: 692788\n \n ORGANISATEURS / ORGANI ZERS\n Léo Belzile (Université de Montréal)\n Joel Kamnitzer (9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ Univers ity)\n Giovanni Rosso (Concordia University)\n Alina Stancu (Concordia Unive rsity)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n DTSTART:20230915T193000Z DTEND:20230915T203000Z SUMMARY:Maksym Radziwill (Northwestern) URL:/mathstat/channels/event/maksym-radziwill-northwes tern-350860 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
