To this end\, we first discuss some basic notions and ide as. Namely\, we try to explain why set-valued mappings should be analyzed\ , what properties of such mappings seems to be useful and are typically st udied\, as well as how one can analyze them\, i.e.\, what are the availabl e tools. It should not be very surprising that\, just like in the standard analysis of functions\, derivatives play a crucial role. Thus\, we clarif y how to differentiate set-valued mappings using the machinery of variatio nal geometry (tangent and normal cones). Then we discuss in more depth the topic of calculus rules that enable one to properly manipulate with gener alized derivatives and apply them to practically relevant problems. We con clude with some remarks about the new property of semismoothness* for set- valued mappings and the related Newton method for solving generalized equa tions (inclusions). \n\n \n\n \n\nSéminaire Applied Mathematics/Mathématiq ues appliquées\n En ligne/Web: Pour inscription contactez/ To register cont act : appliedseminars [at] math.mcgill.ca Join Zoom Meeting https://us06we b.zoom.us/j/85327310903?pwd=SlhEak53S2xrNkVYKzl4YUd5KzBudz09 Meeting ID: 8 53 2731 0903 / Passcode: 383854\n DTSTART:20220117T210000Z DTEND:20220117T220000Z SUMMARY:Matus Benko\, Johannes Kepler University Linz URL:/mathstat/channels/event/matus-benko-johannes-kepl er-university-linz-336443 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
