In this talk\ , we study the FUP for discrete Cantor sets from a probabilistic perspecti ve. We show that randomizing our alphabets gives a quantifiable improvemen t over the current “zero” and “pressure” bounds. In turn\, this provides t he best possible exponent when the Cantor sets enjoy either the strongest Fourier decay or additive energy assumptions. This is joint work with Xiao long Han (Cal. State Northridge).\n\n \n\nJoin Zoom Meeting\n\nhttps://mcg ill.zoom.us/j/89400555470?pwd=YzFzM0x4aVVtSTRXTHVDZzdEWUM5Zz09\n\n \n\nMee ting ID: 894 0055 5470\n\nPasscode: 003929\n DTSTART:20211126T193000Z DTEND:20211126T203000Z SUMMARY:Suresh Eswarathasan (Dalhousie) URL:/mathstat/channels/event/suresh-eswarathasan-dalho usie-335041 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
