This year\, we also invite undergraduate students in statistics to showcase their work i n a poster competition. Conveying your research being key to the learning process\, we encourage each of you to consider submitting an abstract for a talk (graduate students) or a poster (undergraduates). We believe that t he undergraduate poster competition is a great opportunity to participate in an academic conference and that it will be very beneficial to them to p ractice their presentation skills at an early stage of their career. If you plan on submitting an abstract\, you do not h ave to complete the registration form. This presentation should not be longer than 5 minutes and should be rehearsed in order to navigate your poster smoothly over Zoom. I feel like my work is too naive/sim ple to give a talk.\n\nA: Any research is welcome. It could be work from y our summer SURA / NSERC USRA / ISM research\, or it could be work from a r esearch/project course such as MATH 396 / 410 / 470.\n\n聽\n\nQ: How long s hould the presentation take?\n\nA: The participants should have their post ers ready such that they can present their work in no more than 5 minutes. A presentation that has reached 5 minutes will be cut.\n\n聽\n\nQ: Can I a sk for help in reviewing my poster / help me practice my presentation?\n\n A: Yes\, you can get any help you find necessary. However\, keep in mind t hat your poster and presentation must be about your own research.\n\n聽\n\n Q: My research project was done as a team. Could we register for the compe tition as a team?\n\nA: Yes. You are allowed to register for this competit ion as a team.
