 . This year\, the conference will again be held online via Zoom\, due to t
 he uncertainty regarding the Covid-19 situation. \n\n聽\n\nTwo well recogni
 zed researchers in statistics and biostatistics will deliver keynote speec
 hes: Professor Alan E. Gelfand from Duke University and Professor Jennifer
  Hill from New York University. An exciting career panel will end the day 
 with statistics and biostatistics graduates working in Canada and in the U
 SA.\n\n聽\n\nDuring this day\, 9I制作厂免费 graduate students are given a chance 
 to present their research in the broad field of statistics. This year\, we
  also invite undergraduate students in statistics to showcase their work i
 n a poster competition. Conveying your research being key to the learning 
 process\, we encourage each of you to consider submitting an abstract for 
 a talk (graduate students) or a poster (undergraduates). We believe that t
 he undergraduate poster competition is a great opportunity to participate 
 in an academic conference and that it will be very beneficial to them to p
 ractice their presentation skills at an early stage of their career. Pleas
 e see below for information about the undergraduate poster competition. Ab
 stract submissions will be open from August 16th\, 2021 to September 8th\,

 ergraduate Poster Competition\n\nThe registration and abstract submissions
  are done separately. If you plan on submitting an abstract\, you do not h
 ave to complete the registration form. However\, you must fill in the abst
 ract submission form (https://sites.google.com/view/biostatresearchday-202
 1/submit) before Wednesday\, September 8th 2021\, 23:59 EDT to confirm you
 r participation to the competition.\n\nOnce you have submitted an abstract
  for your poster\, we will send you an email to ask you to submit your pos
 ter for the competition\, by replying to the email. Therefore\, please dou
 ble check your email address in the abstract submission form and make sure
  it is correct. The deadline to submit your poster will be on Friday\, Sep
 tember 17th 2021\, 23:59 EDT\, a week prior the event.\n\nOn the event day
 \, you will give a short presentation about your poster to share your rese
 arch. This presentation should not be longer than 5 minutes and should be 
 rehearsed in order to navigate your poster smoothly over Zoom. A presentat
 ion that has reached 5 minutes will be cut.\n\nFAQ\n\nQ: What kind of rese
 arch are you expecting me to present? I feel like my work is too naive/sim
 ple to give a talk.\n\nA: Any research is welcome. It could be work from y
 our summer SURA / NSERC USRA / ISM research\, or it could be work from a r
 esearch/project course such as MATH 396 / 410 / 470.\n\n聽\n\nQ: How long s
 hould the presentation take?\n\nA: The participants should have their post
 ers ready such that they can present their work in no more than 5 minutes.
  A presentation that has reached 5 minutes will be cut.\n\n聽\n\nQ: Can I a
 sk for help in reviewing my poster / help me practice my presentation?\n\n
 A: Yes\, you can get any help you find necessary. However\, keep in mind t
 hat your poster and presentation must be about your own research.\n\n聽\n\n
 Q: My research project was done as a team. Could we register for the compe
 tition as a team?\n\nA: Yes. You are allowed to register for this competit
 ion as a team. However\, you must register under your teams鈥� leader name w
 ith 鈥�(team)鈥� next to their name. We will email you to ask for all your tea
 m members鈥� names and emails. The presentation may be given by one member o
 nly or the full team. However\, keep in mind that for the presentation\, o
 nly 5 minutes will be allowed anyway. Rehearse accordingly.\n\n聽\n\nQ: Are
  there any fees required to participate in this competition?\n\nA: No\, th
 e competition is free.\n
