Sample size re-estimation is a type of adaptation in which nuisance parameters are estimated at an int erim point in the trial and the sample size re-computed based on these est imates. However\, post-hoc evaluations of adaptations\, including sample s ize re-estimations\, have not frequently been performed\, leaving question s about the gains that come from utilizing these procedures in practice. I n this talk\, I describe the statistical impact of implementing a sample s ize re-estimation in the Secondary Prevention of Small Subcortical Strokes (SPS3) study and describe the effect of the adaptation on the practical a spects of the study.\n DTSTART:20190205T203000Z DTEND:20190205T213000Z LOCATION:Room 24\, Purvis Hall\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 1A2\, 1020 avenue des Pins Ouest SUMMARY:Leslie Ain McClure\, PhD\, MS\, Drexel University URL:/mathstat/channels/event/leslie-ain-mcclure-phd-ms -drexel-university-293916 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
