Aside from the obvious applica tions in aerospace engineering\, this problem is very interesting mathemat ically\; it is the simplest example of an integrable system\, which is a k ind of dynamical system characterized by having very many symmetries. The second part of the talk will be about a geometric technique for solving ce rtain integrable systems.\n\nSee you all there!\n\nAllgraduate students ar e invited. As with all talks in thegraduate student seminar\, this talk wi ll be accessible to allgraduate students in math and stats. This seminar wa s made possible by funding from the 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ Mathematics and Statistics Depa rtment and PGSS.\n\n \n DTSTART:20181005T170000Z DTEND:20181005T180000Z LOCATION:Room 1025 (Lounge)\, Burnside Hall\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 0B9\ , 805 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Mathstat Graduate Student Seminar - Adam Artymowicz URL:/mathstat/channels/event/mathstat-graduate-student -seminar-adam-artymowicz-290262 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
