We introduce a class of geo desics called balanced folding paths and show that\, for every loop α\, th e length of α along a balanced folding path is not larger than the maximum of its lengths at the end points. This implies that out-going balls are w eakly convex. We then show that these results are sharp by providing sever al counterexamples.\n DTSTART:20180124T194500Z DTEND:20180124T194500Z LOCATION:Room 920\, Burnside Hall\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 0B9\, 805 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Yulan Qing\, University of Toronto URL:/mathstat/channels/event/yulan-qing-university-tor onto-283976 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
