Dive into the fascinating world of synchrotron-based microcomputed tomography (µCT) and explore how they are revolutionizing research across agricultural applications. From unveiling the mysteries of the micro-worl d to pioneering advancements in agricultural\, plant\, and food sciences\, synchrotron µCT not are at the forefront of innovation. Don’t miss this o pportunity to learn how you can leverage these powerful tools in your own research to illuminate new paths of discovery. See you there!\n\nAbout the speaker\n\nJarvis Stobbs is the Plant Imaging Lead and an Associate Scien tist at the Canadian Light Source Synchrotron\, as well as a Ph.D. candida te in Food Chemistry at the University of Guelph. He earned his B.Sc. in C hemistry at the University of Saskatchewan in 2020. Prior to joining the C anadian Light Source in 2014\, Jarvis worked as a metallurgical technician in the potash industry. In his current role\, he leads a team that specia lizes in applying advanced synchrotron analysis techniques to agricultural research\, encompassing food\, plant\, and soil sciences. His expertise i ncludes synchrotron-based micro-computed tomography and small angle X-ray scattering\, with experience in X-ray fluorescence imaging and mid-infrare d spectromicroscopy. These skills have enabled significant contributions t o the application of these techniques in agricultural and food systems.\n DTSTART:20240513T180000Z DTEND:20240513T190000Z LOCATION:R2-045\, Raymond Building\, CA\, QC\, St Anne de Bellevue\, H9X 3V 9\, 21111 Lakeshore Road SUMMARY:Practical Applications of Synchrotron µCT: Agriculture\, Plant and Food Sciences at the BMIT Beamline URL:/macdonald/channels/event/practical-applications-s ynchrotron-uct-agriculture-plant-and-food-sciences-bmit-beamline-357262 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
