DESCRIPTION:Get a free meal by helping dietetics students prepare 200 meals
  for disadvantaged people living in Lachine.\n\nProfessor Linda Wykes is l
 ooking to recruit 10 to 12 colleagues and students to join her on February
  2 and give two hours of their time (between 11:00 and 13:00). Participant
 s will make “Pudding Chomeur\,” the dessert part of the meal prepared for 
 L’Oeuvre Soupe Maison\, a Lachine-based organization helping the homeless 
 and low-income population by providing food and clothing.\n\nOnce the dess
 ert is done\, those who will have volunteered will get to experience the m
 eal prepared for l’Oeuvre Soupe maison\, a hearty beef stew and\, of cours
 e\, “Pudding Chomeur.”\n\nThis entire operation has been planned\, impleme
 nted and by Dietetics students as part of NUTR 345/346 courses.\n\nRSVP to

 eer lunch is served (CC-212)\n\nAbout MacShares\n\nMacShares is a team-bui
 lding group activity in which Mac faculty\, staff and students volunteer a
  couple of hours of their time to contribute to creating 100+ meals which 
 are then served by local community organizations to people in need. The ev
 ent is part of a management activity for students in the Dietetics program
 .\n\nThis February\, MacShares is looking for volunteers for three events:
 \n\n\n	Friday\, February 2: Pudding Chomeur\n	Monday\, February 5: Cornbread
 \n	Friday\, February 9: Cupcakes\n\n\nVolunteers must RSVP by one week befo
 re the event.\n\nQuick Facts\n\n\n	In Québec\, 1 in 10 people are turning t
 o food banks for help in feeding their families.\n	33% of food bank users a
 re children while representing only 20% of the population.\n	8% of Food Ban
 k clients are postsecondary students\, a significant increase from 5% in 2
 019.\n	8% of Food Bank clients are seniors\, a significant increase from 6.
 8% in 2019.\n\n\nThis project was made possible thanks to the support from
  the School of Human Nutrition and Metro Plus Lachine.\n
