Marie-Josée Dumont\, Associate Professor\; William Dawson Scholar\, McGi ll University\n\nDr. Marie-Josée Dumont obtained a PhD in Bioresource and Food Engineering from the University of Alberta\, a Master's degree in Che mical Engineering and a Bachelor degree in Food Engineering from Universit é Laval. Her research targets the synthesis of high value specialty chemic als and responsive materials to accelerate the development of a strong bio economy. For example\, her research group is currently focusing on the con version of non-edible feedstocks into furanic compounds. These compounds h ave a broad spectrum of applications for the production of fuels\, solvent s\, pharmaceuticals\, and biobased polymers.\n\nZoom link | Meeting ID: 87 5 2596 7689\n DTSTART:20211103T213000Z DTEND:20211103T223000Z LOCATION:Online on Zoom SUMMARY:Food for Thought: Valorisation of biomass residues into chemicals URL:/macdonald/channels/event/food-thought-valorisatio n-biomass-residues-chemicals-333370 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
