What is less u nderstood\, is how we get from here to there - from the crises to the solu tions. This research project asks: how can social movements help bring abo ut large-scale systems change? I have been working with people in the clim ate justice\, Indigenous land defence\, and anti-pipeline movements across Canada to shed light on this question. Guided by grounded theory methodol ogy\, theories and perspectives were gathered through participant observat ion\, in depth interviews\, and surveys. Woven through with scholarly lite rature on social transformation\, this thesis contributes timely insight a bout how change happens.\n\nEveryone in the 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ community is welcome to attend a PhD Oral Defence. Please join us in celebrating the accomplishme nts of our PhD candidates.\n DTSTART:20191011T171500Z DTEND:20191011T171500Z LOCATION:MS2-022\, Macdonald-Stewart Building\, CA\, QC\, St Anne de Bellev ue\, H9X 3V9\, 21111 Lakeshore Road SUMMARY:PhD Oral Defence: More powerful together: collaborative theorizing with social movements about decolonizing and decarbonizing Canada URL:/macdonald/channels/event/phd-oral-defence-more-po werful-together-collaborative-theorizing-social-movements-about-decolonizi ng-300447 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
