Developing new and advanced cultivars with the high yield and better climate resilience provides unprecedented power to addre ss these global challenges. However\, key knowledge and technology gaps st ill limited the maximization of the Genetics by Environment by Management (GxExM) research approach\, such as rapid and repeatable measurement of cr op phenotypic parameters and how to convert the data and knowledge to site -specific management system and its decision-making. This seminar will add ress how robotics\, machine learning and big data computation could tackle these major bottlenecks in crop breeding and management programs\, which are also applicable to the smart animal and plant production systems both in the field and in controlled environments.\n\nABOUT THE AUTHOR\n\nDr. Li ujun Li is a Senior Research Scientist at Hitron Technologies Inc. and PI of DoD robotics and deep learning project. He also had been worked at Elec trical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Georgia\, Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering and National Center for Supercomputing Applications(NCSA) at the University of Illinois at Urb ana-Champaign\, USA as a postdoc. His research interest is advanced sensor and robotic system technologies and its associated data computation for p lant high-throughput phenotyping (HTP) and crop/animal site-specific manag ement decision- making.\n\nEVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND.\n DTSTART:20190527T140000Z DTEND:20190527T153000Z LOCATION:R2-046\, Raymond Building\, CA\, QC\, St Anne de Bellevue\, H9X 3V 9\, 21111 Lakeshore Road SUMMARY:Robotics\, MachineLearning and Big Data for Smart Farming System URL:/macdonald/channels/event/robotics-machinelearning -and-big-data-smart-farming-system-297349 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
