 SSI event for the 2017-18 academic year. This will take place on September
  26th\, 2:00 – 5:00 pm\, in the SSMU (9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ Student Union) Ballroom\, 360
 0 McTavish\, and will be live-streamed to the Mac campus (R3-045). \n\nThe
  schedule is as follows:\n\n2:00 – 3:00 pm: Launch of the first three Rese
 arch Themes: Adapting Urban Environments for the Future\; Creating Sustain
 able Materials for the Future\; and Sustaining Landscapes for the Future\;
  with presentations on each program and ways to get involved.\n\n3:00 – 3:
 40 pm: Presentation from our first MSSI Invited Speaker\, Amy Luers. Amy h
 as worked at the intersection of science\, technology\, and policy in sust
 ainability for 20 years and has just arrived in Montreal to take up the po
 st of Executive Director of Future Earth. We are honoured that she is taki
 ng the time to share her insights with us so soon after her arrival in Mon
 treal and look forward to a stimulating presentation.\n\n3:40 – 5:00 pm: A
 s always\, the event will end with a reception\, both on the downtown camp
 us and at Mac. We invite you to stay for wine and snacks and to connect wi
 th sustainability colleagues old and new.\n\nWe have also been asked to in
 form you that the Adapting Urban Environments for the Future theme is hold
 ing an open workshop on September 27th\, 9:30 am – 1 pm to which you are a
 ll invited. More information on this event will be posted on the MSSI webs
