Its production within rural communities besides being labo rious and energy intensive\, raise concerns on issues such as energy effic iency\, deforestation\, rice husk disposal\, greenhouse gas emission and s moke related health impact.  With farmers’ health and the environment at s take\, a simple but effective and environmentally friendly system may be r equired to improve both rice quality and overall livelihood of rural rice processors. This project is part of 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ’s contribution in providing suc h solution within the region using rice husk energy systems. The primary o bjectives of this work were to provide an alternative biomass energy suppl y through efficient rice-husk-fired systems and to improve energy use thro ugh an integrated steaming and drying system (ISDS).\n\nEveryone in the Mc Gill community is welcome to attend a PhD oral defense. Please join us in celebrating the accomplishments of our PhD candidates.\n\n \n\n \n DTSTART:20160223T181500Z DTEND:20160223T181500Z LOCATION:MS2-022 (Faculty Lounge)\, Macdonald-Stewart Building\, CA\, QC\, St Anne de Bellevue\, H9X 3V9\, 21111 Lakeshore Road SUMMARY:PhD Oral Defense: Improving energy supply and use of the rice value chain using rice husk energy systems URL:/macdonald/channels/event/phd-oral-defense-improvi ng-energy-supply-and-use-rice-value-chain-using-rice-husk-energy-systems-2 58193 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
