Malting quality in barley is a multifarious pheno type that combines a large number of interrelated components\, each of whi ch has a complex inheritance\, thus hinder genetic improvement in this imp ortant trait. Genetic mapping studies identified more than 250 QTL’s (Qual itative trait loci) associated with 19 malting traits. However\, limited s tudies have been conducted to identify genes associated with these QTLs.
