Academic staff a ffiliated with the Centre are drawn from several faculties in the Universi ty. They provide expertise in the technical\, social\, economic\, legal an d environmental aspects of water management.\nThe work of the Centre is pa rtially supported through a bequest to 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ by James Henry Br ace. He stipulated that the bequest be used 'to provide for and carry on r esearch for the development of methods for reducing the salt content of se a water so that it may be used economically and effectively for irrigation \; and for research into methods of irrigation or other means to make dese rt or arid land available and economically useful for agricultural purpose s'.\nThe Centre applies to external agencies for grants and contracts to s upport its research and teaching activities.
