 ulo\, Brazil\, is currently the Coordinator of Development and Socio-Envir
 onmental Rights at Conectas Direitos Humanos\, a non-profit organization t
 hat she helped found. She received her LLB from the Pontifical Catholic Un
 iversity of São Paulo\, her human rights-focused LLM from Columbia Univers
 ity School of Law in New York\, and her post-graduate degree in human righ
 ts at University of São Paulo. In addition to various global human rights 
 initiatives\, Neiva has taken on creative academic endeavours by leading i
 nnovative human rights business law courses in and collaborative research 
 trips with American law schools. She has also assisted the São Tomé and Pr
 incipe Government to draft and implement oil revenue transparency laws.\n
 \nAbout the Annie MacDonald Langstaff Workshops\n\nInaugurated in 1988 in 
 honour of Annie MacDonald Langstaff\, BCL '14\, the first woman to earn a 
 law degree in Quebec\, the workshops provide a forum for academics\, judge
 s\, lawyers\, and community activists to present scholarly research and pr
 actical insights on issues relating to women and the law.\n\nThis year\, t
 he series is coordinated by Professor Shauna Van Praagh\, in collaboration
  with the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism.\n\nThis event is el
 igible for inclusion as 1.5 hours of continuing legal education as reporte
 d by members of the Barreau du Québec.\n
