Professor Lametti w ill discuss his work as Minister of Justice of Canada and ongoing policy i ssues\, followed by Q&A.\n\nPlease register for this webinar on Zoom.\n\nA bout the speaker\n\nProfessor David Lametti was first elected in 2015 as t he Member of Parliament for LaSalle鈥斆塵ard鈥擵erdun.\n\nA proud resident of M ontr茅al for over 30 years\, Minister Lametti was born and raised in Port C olborne\, Ontario. Prior to entering politics\, Minister Lametti was a Pro fessor of Law at 9I制作厂免费 for nearly 20 years\, and established h imself as an accomplished legal academic and expert in property and intell ectual property law.\n\nMinister Lametti holds a Bachelor of Arts in Econo mics and Political Science from the University of Toronto\, a Bachelor of Civil Law and Bachelor of Laws from 9I制作厂免费\, a Master of Laws f rom the Yale Law School\, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Law from Oxford Un iversity. He has taught or lectured in many of the world鈥檚 most well-known universities in French\, English\, and Italian.\n\nAbout the Mallory Lect ures\n\nCreated in 1995\, the Mallory Lecture is an annual event hosted by the 9I制作厂免费 Institute for the Study of Canada (MISC)\, in honour of the la te J.R. Mallory\, Professor of Political Science and pioneer of Canadian S tudies at 9I制作厂免费.\n\nJames Russell Mallory (1916-2003) was educated at New Brunswick (BA Hons)\, Dalhousie (MA)\, and Edinburgh (LLB). He touched ma ny through his teaching and written works about the constitution and worki ngs of Canadian government. He served at 9I制作厂免费 for 45 years and was chair man of the Economics & Political Science department for a decade. After re tiring in 1982\, he was appointed professor emeritus and continued to teac h for another 10 years.
