 workshop is meant to critically discuss the interplay of both these approa
 ches with reference to a case study of 'access to water' in Pakistan's met
 ropolitan city of Karachi\, and draw lessons for policy change.\n\nAbout t
 he speaker\n\nFayyaz Baqir has just completed a stay as visiting scholar o
 n Gender\, State and Civil Society Relations at the Department of Cultural
  Sciences of the Gothenburg University\, Sweden.\n\nHis practice and acade
 mic interests include participatory development\, human rights\, aid effec
 tiveness\, poverty alleviation\, and social accountability. He is currentl
 y serving as an O’Brien Fellow in Residence at the Centre for Human Rights
  and Legal Pluralism until December 2017.\n
