 ) Organised in collaboration with the Sciences Po Law School\, ‘Eating Pop
 corn like a Lawyer’ is an online seminar series that seeks to establish a 
 continuous dialogue between the fields of law and film. For each instalmen
 t we invite a prominent legal scholar to select\, discuss and analyse thei
 r favourite film(s). \n\nFor the April session of our series\, we have inv
 ited Prof. Helena Alviar (Science Po Law School) who has selected Alfonso 
 Cuarón’s latest and much lauded feature ‘Roma’ (2018).  \n\nReturning to h
 is native Mexico for the first time since his equally striking Y tu mamá t
 ambién (and moreover to his own upbringing in the county’s vibrant capital
 ) Cuarón carefully depicts the lives and struggles of a middle-class famil
 y through the eyes of their live-in-maid\, Cleo. Shot in a gorgeous black 
 and white\, Roma provides a moving aesthetic experience as well as a power
 ful social commentary on class and race in 1970s Mexico which we will addr
 ess through prisms of family and labour law. \n\nParticipants are asked to
  watch the film beforehand. Information on how to do so will be provided b
