 nt] The old wisdom that human rights and arbitration are two unrelated dim
 ensions of legal discourse and practice can be challenged. Indeed\, there 
 is increasing evidence that in the era of globalization human rights and a
 rbitration do intersect in the distinct fields of (i) commercial arbitrati
 on\; (ii) investor-State arbitration\; and (iii) tort claims against multi
 national corporations. This poses novel problems\, but also offers additio
 nal tools to all parties involved in the resolution of cross-border disput
 es.\n\nLe conférencier\n\n[En anglais seulement]  Massimo Benedettelli is 
 a Full Professor (professore ordinario) of Law at the Department of Law of
  the University 'Aldo Moro' of Bari\, where he holds the Chair of Internat
 ional Law. Tenured since 1994\, he also taught Private International Law\,
  International Economic Law\, EU Law and European Commercial Law throughou
 t his academic career. Until July 2018\, Massimo led the Italian Delegatio
 n to the ICC Commission of Arbitration\, after which he was named a member
  of the Court. He is also a member of the Arbitration Council of ACIAM\, A
 tlanta (GA).\n\nFrom 2001 to 2014\, Massimo was a partner at Freshfields B
 ruckhaus Deringer\, being a member of both the International Arbitration G
 roup and the Corporate Practice Group. Massimo's professional and academic
  interests focus on international arbitration\, international company law\
