 ration processes allow parties to resolve disputes by constructing their o
 wn choice of forum and guiding laws. This paper will consider how Indigeno
 us peoples might revitalize their own legal traditions through voluntary f
 ora where Indigenous processes and principles guide dispute resolution. \n
 \nLe conférencier\n\n[En anglais seulement] Professor John Borrows is Cana
 da Research Chair in Indigenous Law at the University of Victoria Law Scho
 ol. He is currently a Distinguished Tomlinson Visiting Professor at 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ
 's Faculty of Law\, in residence for the 2017-2018 university year.\n\nBor
 rows teaches in the area of Constitutional Law\, Indigenous Law\, and Envi
 ronmental Law. His publications include Recovering Canada\; The Resurgence
  of Indigenous Law (Donald Smiley Award for the best book in Canadian Poli
 tical Science\, 2002)\; Canada's Indigenous Constitution (Canadian Law and
  Society Best Book Award 2011)\; and Drawing Out Law: A Spirit's Guide (20
 10)\, all from the University of Toronto Press.\n\nBorrows is a recipient 
 an Aboriginal Achievement Award in Law and Justice\, a Fellow of the Trude
 au Foundation\, and a Fellow of the Academy of Arts\, Humanities and Scien
 ces of Canada (RSC)\, Canada's highest academic honour\, and a 2012 recipi
 ent of the Indigenous Peoples Counsel from the Indigenous Bar Association\
 , for honour and integrity in service to Indigenous communities. He is Ani
 shinabe/Ojibway and a member of the Chippewa of the Nawash First Nation in
  Ontario\, Canada.\n\nLes Ateliers de droit civil\n\nEn vue de promouvoir 
 la réflexion fondamentale en droit privé\, le Centre a instauré la série d
 es Ateliers de droit civil\, qui permet de regrouper des juristes québécoi
 s et étrangers autour de thèmes de recherche communs. Dédiés à l’étude d’u
 n thème de recherche transversal\, les Ateliers de droit civil contribuent
  ainsi à enrichir et à stimuler la recherche fondamentale en droit privé.
 \n\nLe cycle 2016-2018 des Ateliers de droit civil\, présenté par le Centr
 e Paul-André Crépeau de droit privé et comparé\, se déroule sur le thème «
  Le public en droit privé ».\n\nLa série des Ateliers de droit civil compt
 e sur l’appui financier du Fonds d’appui à l’accès à la justice dans les d
 eux langues officielles.\n\nAucune inscription préalable n’est requise. Ch
