 ren Crawley\, Griffiths University\, Australie.\n\nLa conférencière\n\n[En
  anglais seulement] Karen Crawley is a graduate of the University of Sydne
 y\, with Honours in English Literature and in Law\, and received her LLM a
 nd DCL from 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ. Her dissertation\, Seeing Double: Ironic En
 counters between Art and Law\, examined the ironic effects of policing rep
 resentations\, with case studies drawn from theatre censorship\, the prose
 cution of graffiti artists\, and legal controversies over photographs.\n\n
 Her postgraduate research was supported by the Canada Research Chair in La
 w and Discourse. She was the Ian C. Pilarczyk Fellow for Legal Methodology
  at the 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ Faculty of Law from 2007 to 2010\, designing and co-deliver
 ing a compulsory course on critical research and writing practices for gra
 duate students\, and she also worked for the Centre for Human Rights and L
 egal Pluralism\, coordinating the Global Conference on the Prevention of G
 enocide in 2007\, and co-curating an accompanying art exhibition.\n\nKaren
  has presented parts of her research at conferences in the United States\,
  Canada and Australia.  Her research is interdisciplinary\, drawing on lit
 erary theory\, semiotics\, visual culture\, cultural criminology\, legal g
 eography and critical theory in order to explore issues of representation\
 , affect and irony in the regulation of speech and art. \n
