 ry with ethnographic research among the Mohawks of Kahnawà:ke\, a reserve 
 community in what is now southwestern Quebec\, Audra Simpson examines thei
 r struggles to articulate and maintain political sovereignty through centu
 ries of settler colonialism.\n\nAbout the author\n\nAudra Simpson is Assoc
 iate Professor of Anthropology at Columbia University. Her book Mohawk Int
 erruptus: Political Life Across the Borders of Settler States (Duke Univer
 sity Press) garnered several “first book” awards and honourable mentions. 
 She is co-editor of the collection Theorizing Native Studies\, (Duke Unive
 rsity Press). She is the recipient of fellowships and awards from Fulbrigh
 t\, the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation\, Dartmouth College\, t
 he American Anthropological Association\, Cornell University and the Schoo
 l for Advanced Research.\n\nCoffee and snacks will be served.\n\nProfessor
  Simpson’s visit is co-sponsored by the Law Teaching Network and the Annie
  MacDonald Langstaff Series\, and supported by the Margot E. Halpenny Fund
