The CIO develops and implements IT strategies, policies and practices to support 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ's academic objectives.

  • Executive Assistant, office of the CIO:ÌýMichelle Seymour

  • IT Finance & HR (Elliott Stekewich, Director) The team provides financial, human resources, and general administrative services, including budgeting, cost control, financial reporting for projects and operations, and management of IT reception and facilities. The team also leads HR strategy and initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and cultural development.

    • IT Human Resources' mission (Alexandra Carbonneau, Manager): To act as a strategic partner in supporting the organization’s goals by attracting, developing, and retaining highly qualified IT professionals while cultivating a culture of excellence, accountability, and growth in an inclusive, motivating, and healthy workplace.  

      • Roles & Responsibilities: 

        • Recruitment and HR Planning: Oversee HR planning within IT, including workforce planning, staffing strategies, organizational design, and alignment with collective agreements and institutional HR policies. 
        • Performance management: Ensure IT staff goals directly support ITS’ mission, vision, and strategic technology priorities. Promote ongoing dialogue between employees and managers to improve clarity of expectations and accountability. Promote key development and growth opportunities for employees by identifying skill gaps, creating learning paths, and employee development and training opportunities.
        • Compensation and Benefits: Customize centralized HR initiatives to align with IT needs, offering direct employee support, addressing specific concerns, and facilitating communication between employees and central HR departments when necessary. 
        • Employee Engagement: Cultivate a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and purpose where every employee feels valued. We aim to celebrate achievements through various recognition-based programs and promote unit-wide collaboration and team-building initiatives.
    • IT Finance's mission (Darina Gueorguieva, Administration & Finance Manager):ÌýTo uphold financial integrity and control over IT Services operations and projects, while delivering high-quality, timely support to our clients with a strong focus on service excellence. 

      • Roles & Responsibilities:
        • Financial Planning and Budget Management: Lead the planning, coordination, and stewardship of IT budgets across portfolios, ensuring alignment with institutional financial frameworks and priorities.
        • Accounting and Financial Reporting: Manage both financial and cost accounting for IT, ensuring compliance with GAAP for non-profit organizations and alignment with 9IÖÆ×÷³§Ãâ·Ñ’s accounting guidelines. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
        • Procurement: Coordinate the daily procurement of goods and services to support IT operations and projects. Review order requests to ensure pricing accuracy and budget alignment. Oversee the receipt of goods and services and authorize vendor invoice payments.
        • Office Management & Reception: Provide administrative support to IT staff, including coordinating office space and managing supplies. Oversee reception operations across three locations and handle all incoming and outgoing mail and courier deliveries.
