 \n\nAbstract: This presentation will discuss a work-in progress: a SSHRC-f
 unded project co-led by Shauna Labman (U Winnipeg) on the settlement of di
 splaced Ukrainians fleeing the Russian invasion of 2022 to Canada with a f
 ocus on two mid-sized cities: Quebec City and Winnipeg. Winnipeg is a very
  diverse city which has long welcomed a large Ukrainian population\, where
 as Quebec City is one of Canada’s least diverse cities\, and its Ukrainian
  community is comparatively small. Drawing on policy analysis and more tha
 n 40 interviews with displaced Ukrainians and settlement stakeholders\, th
 e paper will provide preliminary insights into settlement experience in th
 e two cities\, the varying role of federal\, provincial and municipal gove
 rnment and settlement organizations\, and implications for Canada’s refuge
 e governance.\n
