Eligibility and Required Documents

You are eligible for a co-op work permit if:

  1. You have a co-op support letter听from your department confirming that all students in your program must complete a work placement in order to get their degree.

  2. You have a valid study permit听(or you are including a co-op work permit request within your study permit application and the study permit application gets听approved).

  3. You are required to work in order to complete your program.

  4. The work (i.e., internship, co-op placement, practicum, stage, etc.)听constitutes 50% or听less of your program.听


Required Documents:

  1. A valid study permit听(or听you are including a co-op work permit request within your study permit application and the study permit application gets approved)
  2. A scanned copy听of听your passport including ALL stamped/marked pages.
  3. A co-op support letterfrom your department confirming that all students in your program must complete a work placement in order to get their degree.
  4. An immigration medical exam receipt only if听your mandatory work placement is .

When you apply for your co-op work permit, you must include a听co-op support letter - i.e., a听letter from your department confirming that all students in your program must complete a work placement in order to get their degree.
