 /\n	\n	Meredith Whittaker is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the AI NOW In
 stitute of NYU. The AI Now Institute produces interdisciplinary research o
 n the social implications of artificial intelligence and acts as a hub for
  the emerging field focused on these issues.\n	\n	Whittaker is a Distinguish
 ed Research Scientist at New York University\, and the founder and lead of
  Google鈥檚 Open Research group. She has over a decade of experience working
  in industry\, leading product and engineering teams. She co-founded M-Lab
 \, a globally distributed network measurement system that provides the wor
 ld鈥檚 largest source of open data on internet performance. M-Lab provides o
 ne of the primary resources for policymakers and researchers investigating
  issues of net neutrality and network performance. She has worked extensiv
 ely on issues of privacy and security\, advising on both policy direction 
 and technical implementation. She co-founded Simply Secure\, helped build 
 and currently advises the Open Technology Fund\, and led work to strengthe
 n the security of critical internet infrastructure. She has advised the Wh
 ite House\, the FCC\, the City of New York\, the European Parliament\, and
  many other governments and civil society organizations on artificial inte
 lligence\, internet policy\, measurement\, privacy\, and security.\n	\n	Whit
 taker will give a 45 minute presentation\, followed by a Q and A period.\n
